The Event

The biggest challenge with this event was being limited to virtual options. Toy adaptation is a tedious and meticulous process that is better taught in person, so being confined to our house was a real struggle. The event teaches participants how to switch adapt a toy and create battery interrupters. These two skills are the basis for toy adaptation and can go a long way. They build on basic electrical engineering skills, and opens the door for more advanced assistive technology work later in life. The final products are then collected and given to Easterseals so they can distribute them to those who need them most.
